I thought I might share a bit of my art today because the truth is, I haven’t written much lately. It’s not exactly that I have writer’s block ( I haven’t entirely ruled that out, although I do have approximately 20 unfinished stories waiting for me to get it together) I think it’s mostly because I discovered that I was capable of other forms of creativity, such as painting.(I didn’t know I could do that until my mid forties!) Then during Covid, I developed a huge passion for cooking, but not just cooking. I realized that I very much enjoyed making artful dishes. And then my husband surprised me with an unfinished dollhouse in 2020 (I will refer you to my earlier blog post about that-including pictures) and through that really began to create things I have never thought I could. Clothes, furniture, paintings, and structures in miniature. In any case, I have been completely side-tracked. I hope I’m not using my new-found creativity to avoid writing, because I actually do enjoy writing. But I also enjoy so many more things. There is literally art everywhere and I want to soak in as much as I can and find out what else I can do. As a life-long anxiety sufferer it truly helps if I’m too busy to notice that I’m always panicking about something. Idle hands are the devils playground, or so I have been told. So anyway, here are just a few of my creations over the last couple of years. I have never been to art school and I’m still learning. But I’m doing it. I’m creating. I’m trying my best to live a peaceful life through art and expression.
